Launching My NFT Project

I’m launching my first NFT project called SOLstates and I’ll be providing updates along the way as well as how I am taking each step.

The first step was to create the initial art. I’m initial mint will include 16 x 16 pixel art that I created with software called Aseprite. I used PureRef to easily grab images from Google of license plates from each US state and use that as a reference for creating the first draft of digital license plates.

Here’s an example of the art for SOLstates:

All art is 1/1. SOLstates consists of 50 art pieces, one for each state.

After I created the art, I wanted to find a quick way to deploy (also known as ‘mint’ my nft art to the Solana blockchain.

Thankfully, I found a quick no code solution with haloplex. All that was required was to have enough Solana (Sol) in my wallet to mint my nfts via haloplex’s platform. As I was going through the steps of minting the nft art, I was able to set the artist/royalty fee, add any additional wallet if necessary, and set the metadata for each nft. As for the metadata, each nft has a state, stateColor, and apeColor key value pair (state: Texas, for example).

I was even able to create a storefront with haloplex’s platform, but was not able to see the nfts I had minted and therefore was not able to list them for sale. I will keep exploring documentation to see how to accomplish that and will adjust this post with any additional information.
