Today all I really want to talk about it spreading the word on Amazon Web Services Go Digital Hackathon in partnership with Adobe Create Cloud.
Here’s the goal of the hackathon right from the hackathon’s page:
Building Solutions for the ‘New Normal’Brought to you by the two most exciting and impactful brands in tech, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Adobe want to see YOU bring innovation to life to solve problems for the ‘New Normal’! The world is undergoing an unprecedented change and the wave of digitization and remote collaborations is speeding up beyond expectations.
This is a really incredible opportunity for high school and university level students as well as professionals interested in taking an archaic process and digitalizing it. You can also win money, prizes, and even just Amazon Web Services credit by participating and submitting a project at the end (I signed up and got $200 worth of AWS credits without doing anything yet!)
In the About Me page of my site I talk a lot of my experiences at hackathons and how impactful they were while I was at Appalachian State University. The networking aspect of these friendly competitions is really a beautiful thing. We as developers have a reputation for easily soloing our way through life in the back of a dark room, writing code for 10 hours a day, and all without speaking to another human being. And then do it day after day after day.
I highly encourage you to take a look at this hackathon and consider signing up. I love working with Amazon Web Services technology every day as a profession. I am incredibly fortunate to get to do what I do for a company I genuinely love and believe in. And this is a cool way to use Amazon Web Services technology to try and build something cool and team up with other students and professionals coming from all over the world.
Click here to sign up, the hackathon officially begins September 21!
If you do sign up for this hackathon, you will need to download Slack, join the Go Digital Hackathon Slack channel and team up with other people looking to collaborate.
Good luck! 🙂
