Covid-19 has changed a lot of aspects of our lives this year. And one large aspect is how we consume entertainment. Venues, created by Oculus, brings a perspective to engaging with artists and creators.

Oculus Venues offers incredible virtual events that you can experience through their VR headsets. You can experience the thrill of a visit to the zoo, aquarium, or concert from your favorite artist, all from the comfort of your own home (and skipping all of the ticket lines!)

Venues was first launched in 2018 and has since collaborated on virtual events with the likes of Billie Eilish, Wiz Khalifa, Pete Davidson, as well as the NBA (National Basketball Association).

Facebook hosts a yearly AR/VR conference where they discuss upcoming product releases called Facebook Connect. This year the event is virtual and will be hosted through Venues. The conference data is this September 16, 2020.

Facebook Connect is also hosting a concert at this year’s conference. This year Jaden Smith will take to the virtual stage!

Venues is still in Beta and only available in limited release.

When many around the world are continuing to take safety measures to protect those around them by staying home and limiting exposure to large crowds, Venues offers a fantastic outlet for those looking for an escape. Who knows, this could be the new norm? Sure beats sitting in traffic for hours on the way home from a concert!
